Kim Strobl is an award-winning Austrian filmmaker. After 11 years in London she is currently living in Innsbruck, Austria.
She has a BA in Film & Television Production from the University in Westminster, as well as a Diploma for Advanced Directing from the Central Film School London, where she received the Best Director Award for her graduation film Loose Ends.
Whilst directing and producing her own projects she has 12 years of production experience, working for various high-profile production companies in London and Austria in various roles.
During May 2013 Kim was invited to participate and discuss her work as director at the IFFI Talent Campus in Innsbruck.
Her short film Dancing in Circles stars 3-time Bafta Cymru winning actress Sharon Morgan and was awarded a BAFTA in September 2015.
In 2019 Kim’s debut feature film Madison was produced by Dor Film West & Dor Film and had its cinema release in September 2021.
In 2022 and 2023 she directed 8 episodes of Soko Linz for ORF/ZDF in total, as well as 5 episodes of the new children’s series Die drei !!! for Disney Plus.
She is currently writing her next feature film, a historical thriller for Dor Film, and has just received the development prize from the ‘If she can see it she can be it’ screenwriting competition for her political thriller ‘Long Pila’.
